Jeremy O. Harris’ Slave Play is controversial, intriguing and perhaps a tad irritating, just as the gadfly Black gay activist Playwright intended. When you set out deliberately to make people feel uncomfortable, expect a strong reaction back. Think about the fascination of watching a train wreck, only theatrically.
